North East Essex and Suffolk Pathology services are a partnership of Colchester, Ipswich and West Suffolk hospitals, formed on 5 May 2017. Our vision is to deliver innovative, high-performing pathology that is focussed on our customers and delivers high quality and fully compliant services.

Part Time – including permanent weekday and weekend working (plus enhancements for weekend hours)
Local applications are invited for a phlebotomists to work in the Ipswich area – based at Ipswich Hospital and The Riverside Clinic.
We are looking for fit, reliable, friendly, hardworking staff who thrive in a busy, but rewarding environment, providing a blood taking service for Outpatients and the ward patients based at Ipswich Hospital.
Flexible working to cover short notice absence will be a huge advantage. An ability to stick to strict working protocols must be demonstrated and is an essential part of the role.
Overtime may be available to cover sickness absence and planned leave.
Applicants who present a professional appearance and caring attitude who put patients at the heart of what they do are actively encouraged to apply. An initial training period from Monday to Friday will be required for all new members of staff and will take place at Ipswich Hospital.
All phlebotomy staff are required to participate in the cover of bank holidays on a rota basis.

We are looking for a Healthcare professional who can understand the changing services of pathology and represent the new service going forward.
The post holder must be able to:
1 Work 4 hours at weekends on a rota basis.
2 Work in the hospital ward environment with patients who may be severely debilitated
3 Adhere strictly to established protocols and trust policies
4 Have excellent work attendance and good time-keeping
5 Provide a caring and professional service for users
6 Maintain high standards of professional appearance

It is essential to this role that the applicant has a professional and well-groomed appearance and is able to go and promote the service to the users without compromising delivery.
