Electronic Patient Records system Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for this new post within our general Critical Care Unit. The new system CareVue manufactured by Philips (also known as IntelliSpace Critical Care and Anesthesia [ICCA]) will revolutionise our current system of paper records to an electronic record enabling clearer, more accurate data with a greater ability to analyse our patients’ responses to treatment.

The hard & software for the project has been purchased and we aim for implementation within three months of appointment to this post.
In liaison with clinical staff, the successful person will be responsible for continuing the configuration of CareVue to Colchester Critical Care’s requirements; supporting the “go live” process by training staff and troubleshooting issues as they arrive; its ongoing administration and development post implementation and well as setting up and undertaking audits (including ICNARC) via the system.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in systems administration within the healthcare environment; be able to pay attention to detail; work autonomously within a team in a busy clinical environment A clinical background in health would be advantageous but not essential.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
