We currently have an exciting and rare opportunity within Children's Services at Colchester Hospital for a part time (30 hours) a week Asthma and Allergy Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the multidisciplinary teams. The allergy service is well established, dynamic and forward thinking providing a "one stop shop" for allergy patients. Putting research into practice, we have a clinic for babies with egg allergy, eczema or both who are offered the opportunity for skin prick testing for peanut sensitisation and if appropriate challenged to peanut in that clinic.
The asthma service provides education and support for families from admission through to discharge with the aim of preventing hospital re-admissions. We provide a service for patients with persistent allergic asthma requiring anti IgE therapy.
The post holder will be expected to deliver nurse led clinics in asthma and allergy and also to support consultant clinics as well as having a strong presence on the Children's inpatient unit.
There is a strong emphasis on continuing professional development and encouragement to advance personal practice. We offer a comprehensive Trust and local induction program as well as Safeguarding and Clinical supervision.
