Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Anaesthetics- with an interest in Anaesthesia for Colo-rectal Surgery. It will be desireable to have experience in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) scheme and anaesthesia for major laparoscopic surgery.

The post has arisen due to an expansion in elective surgical/emergency work within this and other specialities. The department expects that the individual can develop other areas of special interest both during fixed flexible sessions and following team and individual job planning discussions.

The appointed post-holders will join a team of 31 Consultant Anaesthetists, which includes 10 Consultants who manage the Critical Care Unit with a separate dedicated on call rota. The post-holder will participate in the general and obstetric on-call rota.

Qualifications required are FRCA or equivalent, full GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council in Anaesthesia or within 6 months of CCT at the interview date.
