Ward Clerk-

Full time, permanent- 30 hours a week

Colchester General Hospital EAU team is actively recruiting for a highly motivated and dedicated Band 2 Ward Clerk to support the team on our busy, vibrant unit. You will actively participate as a full member of the team, assisting with the smooth running of the ward by managing the reception and administrative functions in a timely, effective and efficient way alongside doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants.

We are looking for someone who will be able to work autonomously, be able to prioritise and to work well within a team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the public, both face-to-face and over the phone. Ward clerks are the first point of contact for visitors and patients to the ward, so we need someone who will ensure that the ‘At Our Best’ Values are used at all times to ensure the best patient experience.
Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point are essential to this role.

Your working hours will be 30 hours per week over a 7 day working week, with hours between 7am and 11pm. Interviews may be held at short notice.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
